Description
Historically, English breweries exported a variety of beer styles to their colonies across the empire (including India, of course). Long shipping times and contamination plagued this journey so brewers adjusted their recipes to be stronger and hoppier (as hops act as a preservative). English IPAs are earthy, floral less citrus flavoured than American IPAs due to their use of English hops, while malt flavours of biscuit, toast, and toffee are common.
