These pencil compasses are meticulously crafted to exacting standards in Saint-Étienne, France, by Aime Ledin Construction Mécanique. Aime Ledin has been manufacturing industrial-quality measuring and marking tools since 1902. Constructed from high-grade carbon steel, these pencil compasses feature a hardened, finely ground, and sharp pivot point. They include a universal pencil holder that accommodates a wide range of pencil diameters, securely holding pencils and allowing the pencil tip to perfectly approximate the opposing point.
The compasses have a black gunmetal finish to resist corrosion. They are equipped with a quick-spring nut for swift and precise fine adjustments, securely holding any measurement. For larger adjustments, tilt the nut to disengage the threads and slide to a new measurement. Release the nut to engage the threads and turn it for fine adjustments. The robust “Yankee” style flat-leg construction ensures the durability of these units, complemented by a burnished and hardened spring for years of reliable service.
