Description
The Clifton Block Plane blades are crafted from O1 steel and undergo a cryogenic treatment to enhance performance. With a hardness rating of 60-62 on the Rockwell C scale, this process ensures that the blades maintain their edge longer than most standard plane blades. At 0.150-0.155″ (3.8-3.9mm) thick and 1-5/8″ wide, these blades offer increased rigidity, which improves planing precision. Each blade is accurately ground, laser marked with the Clifton brand name, and individually tested for hardness. To prevent rust and fingerprint marks, it’s recommended to wipe the blades with oil after use. Pair these blades with Clifton Cap Irons and Y Levers for optimal performance.
